What are some things that people should stop chasing after in life?

  1. Sex without love: Why? Because it corrupts your mind for meager pleasures. Sex is just like a drug. It gives you false hope of pleasure whereas real pleasure is in a deep trance of love. People may think of it as old-fashioned and ‘down market’ but ONLY those who have the eyes to see and have found or experienced true love can feel it. Sex is fine but only in true love. Sex without love is just orgasmic for two odd minutes but sex with a true love is orgasmic even with feather touch and keeps rolling in your thoughts for hours. It’s like comparing lemons water to nectar, but people never believe this since many of us have never experienced true unconditional love.
    1. PS: Sex out of so-called relationships is only slightly better than ‘sex without love.
    2. PPS: I do not condemn sex without love.
  2. Emotionally unavailable/negligent people for relationships (aka love!): Love is ‘emotion in motion’. However good one might be in any walk of life and however attractive their physical traits might be, never follow anyone who cannot understand the feeling. If they don’t reciprocate, it’s fine, but if they don’t understand, it’s a disaster. It’s just loving a plastic statue who is never going to respond. Better put your efforts somewhere else. Examples are
    1. Too ambitious people
    2. Too immature people
    3. Too egoistic people
    4. Too socially awkward people
    5. Intelligent but emotionally NOT intelligent
  3. Too much money without tangible results: Chasing and saving money is good but never enjoying life and putting every pleasure in ‘after retirement’ mode should be strongly discouraged. Saving too much is like saving sex for old age!. Many happiness in life is not very costly. The best happiness in life are quite cheap but valuable. Many of our deep desires are rooted in childhood memories like new clothes, traveling and spicy food. Never ignore the child instinct in you and never let it die.
  4. A career which you don’t enjoy: There is nothing more wrecking in this life than a boring life. Money is fine but what the hell you do with it if you just look at the wall clock in your office to show 5 PM!. Choose any work in which you will like to go one hour before and love to leave one hour after. Possible exceptions are
    1. Weak financial condition
    2. Too many responsibilities / Liabilities
    3. The early part of career
    4. No fixed interests or passion known

In the end, as famous movie dialogue puts it, Never chase ‘Bus, train and ladki (Girl)’ … Ek jaati hai, doosri aati hai (One goes, another comes) 😉
